Inside a Lesson: Checklists, Diagrams and Field Notes
Lessons are written to be used at the hive, not only at the kitchen table.
Field checklists
Some lessons include a checklist you can tick off while you work. Ticks are kept with your account, so a half-finished checklist is still there when you come back to it.
Diagrams
Illustrations explain things a photo can't — frame layouts, the shape of a brood nest, a treatment calendar across the season. They are drawn for ApiaryPilot, scale cleanly on a phone, and are stored for offline use like every other picture.
Callout boxes
| Box | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Tip | A shortcut or a habit worth adopting |
| Watch out | A common way this goes wrong |
| Field note | What actually happens in a real apiary, including the messy bits |
| Common mistakes | The errors beginners repeat most, gathered at the end of a lesson |
Reading on a phone
The lesson text comes first; the lesson list is folded into the All lessons bar at the top. Moving to the next lesson always brings you back to the top of the page.
Tip: Read a lesson the evening before an inspection, then reopen just its checklist at the hive.
